Still won’t respect it until they get rid of all the gimmicks like attack mode, make the cars permanently AWD, and make so battery saving isn’t a thing. The cars getting slower and slower as the race goes on is mid. Also I want to see lap times up there with F2.

FIA got paid by Lawrence to reduce Lance's penalty. What a joke of a driver. So many deserving young drivers out of a seat because of pay/ marketing drivers.

This series should just encapsulate all the engineering innovations aspect from F1 so that the money spenders can go nuts with their toys. Then make F1 with cars having equal engines and have the drivers duke it out properly.

You should check out the Indy Autonomous Challenge. They have been doing autonomous racing for probably 5 years now, which is where a handful of these teams (the good ones lmao like Polimove, TUM, and Unimore) came from.

I loved Nico in the box. The races Crofty is missing, Nico should be in the box with Martin

sprints are awesome. more fun than the race to watch. just a half hour of balls out racing.

I watched the live "race" between the 4 cars. While an interesting exercise.... it's not exciting at all. A couple of them didn't work at all and the others just went around at 10mph with brief moments of higher speed. It's obviously early days and might get interesting eventually, but it's a long way off.

As a coder and F1 fan, I watched the 'race' and can only say it was embarrassingly bad. Most of the race ended up being at 50mph or under (rather a lot at 0mph when cars refused to overtake stuck cars under yellow). There was an overtake after the restart when the 2nd of the remaining 2 cars dived down the inside of the leader, but that was mostly because the leading car appeared to see the overtaking car as an obstacle and just slammed on the brakes and obstinately refused to move after that. With the probability that the new leader would stop behind it and refused to lap it again, they appeared to just end the race a lap early. Shambletastic :) It is very cool tech and hopefully one day might develop into something. But they need a lot more closed testing and development before it gets shown to the public again.

It’s been said before and I will say it again….. a formula 1 car isn’t made to be impressive from 0-60. A decent amount of road cars can absolutely cook it. But…. 60-150…. That’s where it will leave 99.9% of cars in the dust.

I wish there would be a second division with 10 new teams and f1 regulations. A system like we have in football. Then there would be 20 more talented drivers rising up with their teams.

The cars seem like dodgems at the first corner plus all the tracks exclude spectators. I want to see this one race at Silverstone. Maybe a formula e race or a head to head with f1. Or maybe combine like Le Mans so they have to keep passing each other.

So this AI needs to "see" the track? It doesn't get any information about the track before it has made one lap? Because I am still very confident in my opinion that you can program an F1 car to race around a track in high-speed, because you have all the data already collected. And I think it's possible to program things like, how much and how low you stood on the throttle or the brakes, which gear to shift where and the angle of the steering wheel etc. But you have to take data and perfectly synchronize it with the start line. This AI is something completely different.

AI can't hurt us. AI moments later.. WINNING THE 8TH TITLE
